Ronald Lee Beatty

Ronald Lee Beatty, 78, of Terrell, Texas, passed away on October 15th, 2024. He was born on September 12th, 1946, in Natchez, Mississippi, and spent much of his life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before moving to Texas in 2005 and settling in Terrell.

Ronald enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1964 and served until 1966 when he was honorable discharged to care for his mother, Dorothy Mae Cooper Beatty, following the passing of his father, Charles Benton Beatty Jr. He spent his career as a mechanic, working on boats, cars, semis, and heavy machinery. He had a passion for racing boats and spent time working at Dealers, where he handled towing services. Ronald also put his technical skills to use as the sound technician for the Cajun Revue. He retired from Brouillette Lift Services and later worked at PDQ Fence doing various jobs for over 10 years.

The later years of Ronald’s life were just as rich as the beginning. He found joy in playing bingo and dominoes and never missed a Sunday church service with his friends at Lakeside Health & Wellness Nursing Home. His days were filled with friendship, laughter, and the peace of his faith, making those years as special as any before.

Ronald is loved and will be missed by son Charles Benton Beatty and his wife Nancy; daughter Tricia Lewis. He was the cherished grandfather of Brice Waddell and fiancée Taylor, Brendan Alonzo and Alissa, Danielle Beatty, Nickolas Beatty, Tasha Messek, Billy Pearce and his wife Kristen, Whitney Starks and her husband Caleb, and Hailey Lewis. He was also the great-grandfather to Bentley, Hadley, Kayson, Raven, Mikayla, Blakely, Xzavier, Braylee, Kaylee, Jagger, Mason, and Julian. Ronald also leaves behind five nephews, two nieces, and several great-nephews and nieces.

He is survived by his sisters Karen, Linda and her husband Lawrence, and Karla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Mae Cooper Beatty and Charles Benton Beatty Jr., as well as his sister Sandra.

Pallbearers for the service will be David Dennis, Salvador Gomez, Brice Waddell, Brendan Alonzo, Billy Pearce, and Caleb Starks.

Ronald’s viewing will be held on Friday, October 18th, from 5-8 pm at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 19th, at 10 am, with the burial to follow at Campground Cemetery.

Ronald had a deep love for fishing, cats, his daily cups of coffee, and watching the news. He was a kind soul who loved his family and friends dearly, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
