Maudie Ruth Stout Morgan, born September 20, 1933, in Powderly, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at the age of 91 in her home surrounded by loved ones.
The family will honor and celebrate Ruth's life with visitation on February 7, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home, located at 301 W Nash St, Terrell, TX 75160 with a funeral service to follow at the same location on Saturday February 8, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Her interment will take place at Restland Cemetery 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243 starting at 3 pm.
Ruth married Harvey Hammers Sr on December 27, 1953. She later married Rex Stanley on January 25, 1974 and married Bill Morgan on March 22, 1982.
Ruth graduated from Central High School in Paris, TX in 1951. She was active in Dramatic Club and Choral Club during her high school tenure. She had a long career in retail, administration and customer service. She spent many years traveling the US with Bill in their trucking business and they also endeavored in the restaurant business together. She enjoyed traveling, music and dancing, puzzles, bingo and spending time with family and friends. She always brought an air of elegance and grace to every room she entered.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, daughter Sondra Hay and husband Blake, daughter Donna Grimes and husband John, son Wayne Hammers and wife Susan, and son Alan Stanley. Her adoring grandchildren are Michelle Harless, Kendra Brumfield, Shannon Leath, Dalin Crowsey, Nick Hay, Craig Hay, Amanda Wright, Jennifer Inman, Nathaniel Grimes, Melissa Dotson, Jessica Fincher and Ray Hammers. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, great-great granchildren, extended family and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father and mother Claude and Bertha Stout, her daughters Janet Harris and Becky Hines, her brothers Herbert Stout and Harvey Stout, sister Ruby Hedrick, and by her husbands Harvey Hammers, Rex Stanley and Bill Morgan.
Ruth will be remembered for her deep devotion to her faith, love of her family and friends and strong independent nature. She will be deeply missed by all who love her.
