Arline Tucker

Mary Arline Tucker, a faithful child of God who centered her life around worship and being His witness to others. Mary rejoiced in the Heavens with her Lord and savior when she was called home on December 23, 2023. She was born in Alvarado, Texas to parents Jacob and Bonnie (Leanord) Johnston on August 25, 1944. She was deeply cherished by her loved ones and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mary's life was shown through joy and love. She found immense happiness when she was surrounded by her family, whose presence brought endless delight to her heart. A dedicated teacher, Mary passionately taught kindergarten and Sunday School for many years. She had a special fondness for caring for young children and took great pleasure in nurturing their growth and development. Mary's unwavering commitment to spreading love and compassion extended beyond the walls of the classroom; she radiated warmth wherever she went, generously offering hugs to all, whether they sought one or not.

Mary was preceded in death by those who held a significant place in her life: her parents Jacob and Bonnie, her beloved husband Don, as well as her sister Hortense.

Mary is survived by her loving children and stepchildren: Tammy and husband Raymond Greene, John Tucker, Vicky and husband Mark Chapman, Tonya Richardson, Donald Tucker Jr., Shari Schmidt, Michael Tucker, and Chris Tucker. Each of them holds precious memories of their dear mother that will forever remain etched in their hearts.

In addition to her children and stepchildren, Mary leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren: Wendell Tapp, Randy Deckman, Zachariah Land, Peyton Mulkey, Tessa Tucker, Bonnie Tucker, J.W. Tucker, Dusty Chapman, Vince Chapman, and Allison Chapman. These young souls carry the spirit of their beloved grandmother with them as they embark on their own journeys through life.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Anderson Clayton Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas, starting at 2:00 PM. This event will pay tribute to Mary's remarkable life and the indelible impact she left on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mary Arline Tucker's illuminating presence in the lives of her loved ones and community will be deeply missed. As we reflect upon her life, let us remember not only the immense love she shared but also the inspiration she provided through her unwavering faith and dedication. May her soul find eternal peace in the embrace of God's love.
