James Vernon Stovall, age 92, of Terrell, Texas passed away peacefully on the morning of January 1, 2023 surrounded by his family. Vernon was born on August 16, 1930 in Atlanta, Texas to parents James Perry Stovall and Lois Mable Adair.

Vernon was a hard worker from a very young age, being there was 12 siblings total. Vernon married on April 28, 1949 to the love of his life Betty (Wilson) Stovall where they made a wonderful memories full of 72 years of life. Together, they loved to travel all over the world. Vernon also enjoyed fixing things. He was a successful mechanic and entrepreneur. He loved living life “full throttle”. He loved to be on the water and going water skiing in his younger years. Vernon proudly served in the United States Army and loved his country.

Vernon is preceded in death by his parents; daughter JoAnn Miller; grandson Bubba Miller and siblings: Ernest Stovall, Bobby Stovall, Joel Stovall, Lonnie Stovall, Judy Stovall and Pauline Stovall.

Those left with cherished memories are his loving wife Betty Stovall; daughter Diane Mitchell and husband Frank; four siblings: Charlene Laminack, Jerry Wilbanks, Margaret Ashcraft and Modrey Luman; grandchildren: Bubba Miller, Brandon Miller, Kristen Miller and spouse Jason Robinson, James Davis, Jeff Davis, Dusten Davis and Betsi Riddle and husband Brian; greatgrandchildren: Dakota, Cheyanne, Madison, Gabby, Grey, Stoney, Jeff Jr., Logan, Autumn, Mason, Morgan, Makenzie, Bryce and Mikeal along with a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved family and friends who will miss him dearly.
