Herbert O. Metcalf

Herbert Oscar Metcalf, age 80, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022. Graveside service will be Weaver Cemetery Thursday, March 10, 2022, in    Terrell, TX at 2:00 PM.

Herbert was born on December 29, 1941 in Hunt County to John and Dora Lee (Moore) Metcalf.    Herbert was enlisted in the Unites States Army where he proudly served his country. He was a simple man and enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed watching the birds and even had a few pet birds.    Herbert liked to watch baseball and his favorite team was the Texas Rangers. He was a hard worker and worked as an apartment maintenance man for many years before retiring. After retirement he loved to stay home and sit in his recliner and watch television and have Whataburger brought to him to eat.

Those left with cherished memories are his brother John W. Metcalf and numerous nieces, nephews who will miss him dearly.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Patsy Mercer, Betty Sue Metcalf, Nita Lewis, Nannie Metcalf, Barbara Meek and brother Robert Metcalf.
